Christian Grey Fifty Shades
Who is Christian Grey?
Brilliant entrepreneur and all around hunk Christian Grey is the lead male character in Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed, the trilogy of 50 Shades books by author E L James. Our female hero Anastasia Steele interviews Christian at the beginning of the series and is left with an irresistible attraction to him. The rest of the trilogy follows their racy romance as they explore their fantasies and inner demons.
What is so sexy about Christian Grey?
For starters, he's got some interesting sexual tastes, including a dominance and control fetish that is a bit kinkier than the usual stale romance novel plot. Sure the intimate scenes are steamy in Fifty Shades, but folks are making way too much out of that aspect of the book (although it doesn't hurt) and ignoring the other elements that make Christian Grey into every woman's dream. He's a character constructed from every romance cliche: super handsome, incredibly rich, always buying you gifts, always insisting on eating well, obsessed with you, and a "bad boy" with dark problems that only you can understand and break through. We're talking about looks, money, gifts, devotion and danger. That is an explosive combo. Is it cheesy to pack so much exaggerated fantasy into one character? Sure. But it is also a lot of fun.
Who would play Christian Grey in a 50 Shades movie?
At the time of writing this article a 50 Shades of Grey movie is still being negotiated and it is unclear whether or not the movie will be faithful to the book plot or who exactly will be cast in the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. If people thought the stakes were high when casting the male actors for the Twilight movies, Fifty Shades might have upped the ante. Some popular fan choices for actor to play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades are:
- Alexander Skarsgard
- Ian Somerhalder
- Christian Bale
- Michael Fassbender
- Ryan Gosling
- Robert Pattinson
Is Christian Gray the same person?
Sure. The official title of the book is Fifty Shades of Grey, with "Grey" being Christian's last name. Since the word also has a popular alternative spelling of "gray" there's been a surge in references to the book and character under the slightly incorrect names Fifty Shades of Gray and Christian Gray.
